Local Northeast Ohio author Suzanne Boehlefeld, a passionate advocate for children’s understanding of neurodiversity and inclusion, has released her debut children’s book, My Friend Seymour, and invites the community to celebrate with a special reading and book-signing.
Sunday, March 15, from 1–3 p.m.
Fireside Book Shop
29 North Franklin Street, Chagrin Falls, OH, 44022
Inspired by real-life experiences with her eldest son, Andrew, who lives with autism and sensory processing disorder, My Friend Seymour celebrates neurodiversity through a young child’s eyes as he navigates everyday life with courage, humor, and heart. What began as bedtime stories shared with her two sons grew into a heartfelt mission to promote empathy, inclusion, and understanding for children of all abilities.
During the event, Boehlefeld will read My Friend Seymour, answer questions, and sign copies of the book. She will be joined by award-winning illustrator Kim Soderberg—also an autism mom—who will engage children in a fun, interactive drawing activity inspired by the story. The event is open to the public and is especially suited for children ages 4–8 and their families.
